The Pursuit Race Planner grew out of a simple question that came up after a night of racing: why is organizing pursuit races harder than it needs to be? Sitting on the patio of the yacht club with friends, we imagined a tool that was clean, reliable, and easy for anyone at the club to use. When nothing like that existed, I decided to build it.

This project reflects a genuine passion for sailing and a commitment to making the sport better for clubs and racers alike. The Pursuit Race Planner is fast, intuitive, and designed to remove the usual complications of race management. With just a few clicks, clubs can build courses, manage marks, calculate pursuit start times, and handle boat handicaps. No spreadsheets and no technical expertise are required.

For sailors, the interface is clear and practical on any device. Live countdowns, corrected start times, course details, and real time speed and heading information are presented in a straightforward format that works well on the water.

Race committees and handicapping committees can update ratings, adjust corrections, manage marks, and create new races in seconds. The entire system is built to streamline race day and help clubs run consistent, accurate, and high quality pursuit races.
